What I always like about an assignment is that you get the opportunity to better understand the company or the organization where you work. What is the mission of that company. Because ultimately you are of course working to realize an IT solution that fits in with that. So the better you understand the organization, the better you can of course also create that IT solution.

When I started at CIMSOLUTIONS in 2000, I actually started from the role of developer. And over time, through various assignments with clients, I actually became more and more interested in ‘why do you build something’. So I also rolled more into the role of functional designer and grew again into the role of business analyst.

At my current client I grew even further into the role of business architect. Trainings in the field of business architecture have helped me a lot in that. I am also one of the first who started using business capabilities, to also map out the business model. I am quite proud that this model is now also used by everyone at this client. Not only for carrying out an impact analysis, for example, but also within initiatives or larger programs.

Within CIMSOLUTIONS you have your own training budget. That you can use to obtain certifications, for example, or to follow training courses. I myself have followed training courses in the field of business architecture, for example. But I am also certified in TOGAF and have a SAFe certificate. That, in combination with the various assignments that CIMSOLUTIONS has in its portfolio, ensures that you can also grow.

One of the ways in which I have a lot of contact with colleagues, especially in my own field, is within the Competence Center Business Analysis. We meet regularly, nowadays that is often via Teams. But when I talk about the Competence Center Business Analysis, for example, we share information there about the latest developments, the latest trends, the latest issues that are playing a role in the field of business analysis. So it is also important for me to share knowledge there, but also to brainstorm with colleagues. That is very nice. If I have a problem, or if I think how would you solve this, I can always go there. You don’t necessarily have to wait for the meeting that is coming up. In this way, you also build a network within CIMSOLUTIONS of colleagues in your field with whom you can always brainstorm or share knowledge. So that is, for me, a great advantage of the Competence Centers.

What I always get very enthusiastic about is when I can transfer knowledge to other people who then also pick it up and can use it in their work or in their assignment. So for example a new development in the field of business analysis, for example, new tools, new techniques, to then explain that to people who can then also continue with it. So ultimately that person can continue with it, I can continue with it, we can continue with it together and I think that is growth again.

Are you looking for a company where it is important that colleagues share knowledge with each other, where you have the opportunity to do various assignments, then contact us.

What I really like about data is that there is so much of it, and it is often not even clear to other colleagues, other people, how much information you can get from it.

My name is Ellen. I have found data simply fun and very interesting for years and I get to work with it every day, because I work at CIMSOLUTIONS as a data engineer.

As a data engineer, I just like that we have so much data, that I can structure it and that I can get from it what is useful for colleagues or for other people. And that I can just show it to them in a clear, visual way.

I have been working at CIMSOLUTIONS since 2022. Actually, when I started, I first had a two-month traineeship. And it is also very nice that you learn the scrum process, for example, prepare your CV in advance to do the interviews later. But it is also mainly a bit of getting to know how it is in the business world, or how an assignment will be, so it is actually just a simulation of an assignment for two months.

I was looking for something in consulting anyway, because I also like seeing different workplaces, or having different assignments. I definitely like it now that I start somewhere and that I stay there for a year and that I develop something there and that I can then move on to something new to learn something new.

I really like it within CIM that I always have contact with other colleagues. That many activities are organized. We have a branch meeting once every two months, where you actually see all your colleagues, we eat together, we hear a presentation from other colleagues about their work, we hear something about the figures. In addition to those branch meetings, we also have other activities. We have the sports day, we also have something with Sinterklaas, we have the New Year’s drink and we actually have a weekend away every year, which I think is the best. Last year I organized the weekend and I did that together with five other colleagues. And then you can actually fill in everything yourself, so the location, what are we going to do, the activities, what are we going to eat, so yes, we organized that ourselves. I enjoyed it so much that I am organizing it again this year with other colleagues.

Within CIMSOLUTIONS I also have a lot of contact with my own field manager. I talk to him about how the assignment is going, am I enjoying it, do I like it. But I also talk to him about where I see myself next year, or at my next assignment, or in two years. And I can stay very much within my own direction, so I can grow as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst, but I also notice that there are options to become a Scrum Master or Product Owner, more in management. It is clear to me what the options are. And it is also just nice to talk to someone about it, to brainstorm with someone, and that you have a permanent field manager who guides you.

So if you are looking for a flexible employer where you can have many different assignments, but also possibly stay on assignments for longer if that is what you are looking for, and if you also want to have contact with your colleagues within CIMSOLUTIONS, then it is definitely recommended to come and work here.

The great thing about consulting services is that I can get to know other companies without being employed there. Every client I visit has its own way of working. I learn a lot from that. It stimulates and encourages me to grow further in my profession and as a person.

What I like about consulting is that you can actually do a different assignment every few years.

I have been working for CIMSOLUTIONS since 2016. I have been working for a government institution in The Hague for about 3 years now, where I work as an agile consultant. What I like about my job is that I work intensively with people. Where you grow as a team. Where you see teams getting better.

I like that when I am assigned to a client, you stay a little longer to really be able to contribute to the client. To also build a bond with the client. But I also notice that after a few years, I become too comfortable and I also need a new trigger to activate myself. And it helps that CIMSOLUTIONS gives me the space to look for a new assignment.

There is a lot of room for self-study, for personal development. We also receive an annual training budget for this. Which you can spend on your current role. Suppose you want to grow into a new role, then there are also opportunities to use your budget for that. You are not bound to a specific framework in that.

I started as a developer in the past, but I quickly noticed that my heart was more in the intersection between IT and business, to be in between. To translate the wish of what the customer really wants, to translate that into an IT solution.

Within CIMSOLUTIONS we have Special Interest Groups and Competence Centers. One of the most important goals is to make each other better in the field or fields that you want to learn from in order to be able to grow in that. I am in the Competence Center of Agile and SAFe myself, where I share knowledge with other colleagues regarding those subjects, but also gain knowledge that I can then apply to the customer.

I chose CIMSOLUTIONS because I immediately got the feeling that I was in a warm bath. Where you are not a number, where you have the idea that you are listened to as a person and about your needs. That also fits much better with who I am.

What I like to maintain a bond with my CIMSOLUTIONS colleagues is that activities are regularly organized. Branch meetings and every year we go away for a weekend where the partners are also invited. I do notice that I maintain a much stronger bond with my colleagues because of that.

So does it appeal to you? Just come work with us!

Kevin (Software Engineer)

Kevin talks about his start at CIMSOLUTIONS as a trainee and his development and opportunities he was given to grow into a software engineer and scrum master. He elaborates on his choice for secondment, his development and the collegiality within CIMSOLUTIONS.

What I like about developing and which is also how I got into the profession, is that coding is a kind of puzzle. A problem arises, there must be a solution somewhere and you have to find the solution, you have to code and implement the solution. Developing software is basically the perfect balance between logical and creative work, you can make what you want if you have an idea in your head you can work it out in the code and ultimately make something beautiful out of it in a very logical way.

My name is Kevin, I have been working at CMIOSLUTIONS since 2021 and am currently seconded to a large government agency as a Java Software developer.

I started at CIMSOLUTIONS through a graduation assignment. I worked on my graduation assignment within CIMSOLUTIONS for three months and then I was employed.

After I joined CIMSOLUTIONS I followed the traineeship. That traineeship was great, it was super. We had a very large group of 12 colleagues, 12 trainees. It was a very close-knit group, there were all sorts of people in it, Java Developers, Python Developers, Data Analysts, Testers, it was just a very diverse group, which was also a challenge to create a somewhat coherent product. But I still see those colleagues regularly. We also have an app group with each other where we sometimes meet up, we went out for dinner once. So we still see each other regularly.

When I came to CIMSOLUTIONS, I had just come from school so I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do. I didn’t know exactly what kind of company I wanted to work for, so that’s why I chose consulting, but I also didn’t know exactly where I wanted to end up and what path I wanted to take. I knew that I was a software developer at that time and I knew that I wanted to code Java at that time, but I didn’t know what my career could be. A consulting agency is of course perfect to get into that. At a consulting agency you have different assignments, so you can see what suits you.

So I had a good brainstorm session with the field manager, coordinated what my possibilities are within the company and the possibilities in the growth paths and looked at how we can ensure that you achieve your growth goals in the coming year/years. And my field manager simply helped me a lot with that.

My current assignment where I am currently consulting is a great assignment. So I started as a junior software developer and eventually I have now grown into a part-time scrum master and medior software developer within my assignment. I also really like that balance between them, on the one hand to plan those events, to ensure that I have that facilitating role. But on the other hand I also really like to dive into that code again, to hammer away and yes, to get my satisfaction from that.

What I also like is that there are several CIMSOLUTIONS colleagues within my assignment. I speak to them regularly and occasionally go for a nice walk with my colleagues to still have the interaction between CIMSOLUTIONS colleagues and the colleagues of the client.

I just really enjoy it. Consulting is just really my thing. I really like looking for different assignments that suit me and also having variety in that. So I also think it is very important to have several events or several points where you come together as a company and we do indeed have that, for example, through the branch meetings or the weekend trips that we plan. I myself was involved in the Sinterklaas celebration. Together with a colleague as Piet, I recorded a really nice video and we eventually sent it to all the children of the colleagues of CIMSOLUTIONS.

So do you want to work for a nice employer with nice clients, nice colleagues and good growth opportunities? Then come and work at CIMSOLUTIONS.
