Very successful SIG Java thanks to interactive presentation by Oracle’s Rob van der Aar

Just 2 days after the historic moment for the worldwide Java community when Oracle released the first Non-Public Java version, Rob van der Aar, Director Business Development EMEA of Oracle, was a guest speaker at our Special Interest Group Java. During an interactive presentation, Rob shared all the ins and outs of how Oracle makes Java technology and important security updates available to the world. A world in which Java programs can be found on computers and servers at approximately 95% of organizations. Rob also went into more detail about the impact of these updates. In particular for our developers and customers of course.

In September 2017, Oracle released Java version 9 under a new release cadence and on January 15th, Oracle released the final Public Available update (202) for Java version 8.

In a nice interaction with the group, Rob shared more than 1.5 hours from the Oracle Java Global Businesses Unit about the changes, implications and solutions for Java support and (security) updates!
