Our Business Analysts and Information Analysts play a crucial role in improving and innovating your business processes and IT solutions.
The Business Analysts focus on analyzing the business model and realizing business value. The Information Analysts focus on the functional description and realization of IT solutions. This requires business insight, technical skills and a thorough knowledge of IT and the new developments in it.
Our analysts work according to the LEAN principle, which ensures that business processes are set up as efficiently as possible, and use an Agile approach to quickly develop usable functionalities. These methodologies, combined with best practices such as Value Stream Mapping, Business Capability Modelling, Business Process Modelling, TOGAF, Agile/Scrum and DevOps, enable us to provide high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
We offer expertise in various sectors, both within government and industry. Our specialists actively contribute to knowledge sharing via the Special Interest Group “Business and Information Analysis”, the Competence Center Business Analysis, publications, guest lectures and our own CIMposium for customers and relations.
Whether it concerns implementing case-oriented work in government, developing a new permit system for the Environmental Act, or guiding new services and processes in the financial sector, our Business Analysts and Information Analysts offer the expertise and guidance needed to successfully tackle these challenges.
Curious about what this looks like in practice? Watch the video in which our colleague Lennert explains how he solves problems for organizations as a Business Architect.
What I always like about an assignment is that you get the opportunity to better understand the company or the organization where you work. What is the mission of that company. Because ultimately you are of course working to realize an IT solution that fits in with that. So the better you understand the organization, the better you can of course also create that IT solution.
When I started at CIMSOLUTIONS in 2000, I actually started from the role of developer. And over time, through various assignments with clients, I actually became more and more interested in ‘why do you build something’. So I also rolled more into the role of functional designer and grew again into the role of business analyst.
At my current client I grew even further into the role of business architect. Trainings in the field of business architecture have helped me a lot in that. I am also one of the first who started using business capabilities, to also map out the business model. I am quite proud that this model is now also used by everyone at this client. Not only for carrying out an impact analysis, for example, but also within initiatives or larger programs.
Within CIMSOLUTIONS you have your own training budget. That you can use to obtain certifications, for example, or to follow training courses. I myself have followed training courses in the field of business architecture, for example. But I am also certified in TOGAF and have a SAFe certificate. That, in combination with the various assignments that CIMSOLUTIONS has in its portfolio, ensures that you can also grow.
One of the ways in which I have a lot of contact with colleagues, especially in my own field, is within the Competence Center Business Analysis. We meet regularly, nowadays that is often via Teams. But when I talk about the Competence Center Business Analysis, for example, we share information there about the latest developments, the latest trends, the latest issues that are playing a role in the field of business analysis. So it is also important for me to share knowledge there, but also to brainstorm with colleagues. That is very nice. If I have a problem, or if I think how would you solve this, I can always go there. You don’t necessarily have to wait for the meeting that is coming up. In this way, you also build a network within CIMSOLUTIONS of colleagues in your field with whom you can always brainstorm or share knowledge. So that is, for me, a great advantage of the Competence Centers.
What I always get very enthusiastic about is when I can transfer knowledge to other people who then also pick it up and can use it in their work or in their assignment. So for example a new development in the field of business analysis, for example, new tools, new techniques, to then explain that to people who can then also continue with it. So ultimately that person can continue with it, I can continue with it, we can continue with it together and I think that is growth again.
