Graduation assignment Parking

What are you going to do?

A parking garage will be built where all innovative things will be used. For this it is necessary that an application (or multiple applications) will be built. Develop the application(s) and the mobile Apps that meet the following requirements:

  • It must be possible to reserve parking spaces, and the availability of the space must be guaranteed for up to one hour after reservation;
  • Motorists must be escorted to the space reserved or designated for them;
  • Motorists should be able to request (based on license plate) where their car is located in case the motorist has forgotten;
  • Payment by credit card, debit card, parkmobile, contactless payment, etc. must be allowed;
  • Subscriptions should be possible (perhaps a separate section of the parking lot);
  • License plate recognition (photo) must be possible;
  • Crooked parkers should be warned and if they do not straighten their car, they should pay for the extra space;
  • Many users need advice (e.g. take out a subscription);
  • Customer interfaces should be friendly and intuitive;
  • App for a smartphone (Android and iOS).

The elaboration:

In completing the assignment you demonstrate the following skills:

  • Analysis and elaboration of requirements using use cases;
  • Setting up a development platform for creating the Applications and the App;
  • Justifying choices regarding your approach and results with an eye for quality;
  • Working out the assignment in a structured manner;
  • Formulating conclusions and making recommendations for a follow-up process;
  • Reporting in writing and orally on the results of the assignment.

The expected results:

  • Functional development platform for the Application and the App (iOS/Android)
  • Delivery of the parking application(s) and the App(s)
  • User Guide for Application and Mobile Apps.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Good command of the Dutch language;
  • Knowledge of and affinity with software development.
