What are you going to do?
The assignment concerns the research and development of an application that can detect the presence of people. The data is obtained from sensors/cameras. The application must ultimately be usable for surveillance applications for, for example, terrain, traffic, agricultural land and homes.
The goal of the assignment is to develop an application where data is obtained and the detection of people will take place. Part of the assignment is to investigate and use different sensors to detect the presence of people under different weather conditions.
The elaboration:
In completing the assignment you demonstrate the following skills:
- Analysis and elaboration of requirements using use cases;
- Setting up a development platform for creating the Application;\
- Justifying choices regarding your approach and results with an eye for quality;
- Working out the assignment in a structured manner;
- Formulating conclusions and making recommendations for a follow-up process;
- Reporting in writing and orally on the results of the assignment.
The expected results:
- Plan of approach;
- Functioning development platform for the application;
- Delivery of the application (C++, Python, etc.);
- Application User Guide;
- Research into sensors for detecting people;
- Research into the effects of, for example, weather conditions;
- Test plan, test cases, test report.
Required knowledge and experience:
- Good command of the Dutch language;
- Knowledge of and affinity with software development.
